Interview with Mr. Mohammad Rostampoor in Bar code program in Iran Kala channel
Mr. Mohammad Rostampoor, entrepreneur in the field of construction industry and the CEO of Tav center for research and sustainable development (Tav Holding) was invited to barcode program in Iran Kala channel as the special guest and genius expert in the field of construction industry. The Barcode program series attempt to investigate the scientific and practical strategies that can improve the economic development of our country, Iran. The subject of this episode of Barcode program was the production of wallpapers in the construction industry.

Mr. Mohammad Rostampoor in response to the question posed by the interviewer that “ why do they call you an entrepreneur in the field of construction industry?”, said; “I have not been jobless even for one hour since I was a university student and all my attempt was to get a job in the construction industry. This caused me to reach a level to be influential in the construction industry. On the other hand, I felt dutiful to pay the zakat for my knowledge, which is to spread it. As a result, by entering science to the field of work and industry, we could provide jobs directly for more than 400 people.
Continuing the conversation, Mr. Rostampoor considered the formation of Tav research and development center as important for the development of his own company and added that:
“Research is an important issue in reaching the aims of any company and our research center assists us in reaching sustainable development and developing the company in future.
The research center is very important to us. You know that most of the successful companies in the world dedicate part of their income to research and development and we try to be a forerunner in this field.
In the research center, some research has been done on sustainable development in the field of construction and urban development and we hope to be able to implement the results of these researches in the future projects.

Continuing the conversation, Mr. Rostampoor mentioned the subject of wallpaper and explained a brief history of its production and the present conditions in the wallpaper market in Iran. He announced that regarding the economic conditions and the sanctions, I hope that these sanctions and the ban on the import of wallpaper could be considered as an opportunity so that we could see the production of Iranian quality wallpaper and to produce more quality materials.
He added that wallpaper would have a very positive effect on the mood of individuals from psychological point of view, because humans in essence love beauty. Using wallpaper has doubled the visual beauty of the apartments and has been effective in choosing them and actually raises the price of the apartment and accelerates the sales.
At present, in the field of all building decorations, and if we want to generalize to the entire construction industry and the market, the whole market has been very turbulent in the past two months. I am not an economic expert, but these issues are not related to sanctions, and we are mostly self-sanctioned. The current conditions are more of a trial and error condition, and all the people including producers, importers and consumers are confused.
Engineer Mohammad Rostampoor added that the administrative bureaucracy system is almost crippling and is an obstacle to the manufacturers. We must apply the principles of resistance economy in practice and stop chanting slogans.
In response to the question posed by the interviewer that “what do you think entrepreneurs must do in the present condition in this field?”, Mr. Rostampoor said; “entrepreneurs must change their viewpoints regarding the present condition and in the sanction conditions when the import of wall paper has been banned to the benefit of investors, they must take action to invest and produce in this field.
In the current time, our entrepreneurs must enter the factories and production lines with up-to-date technology and do research on the taste of consumers and the up-to-date designs of wall papers in the world and start producing wall papers in Iran with regard to the Iranians’ culture and taste. Of course, all the entrepreneurs and companies should look to the future and do research on future trends. Unfortunately, big companies that have been very active and prestigious in the past decade, are not present today due to lack of futurology.”
